A developer has revised plans for 300 apartments on Route 6 in Newtown after a seasonal breeding pool was found on the property. The pool contains wood frogs, spotted salamanders and fairy shrimp. The developer says construction would stay more than 100 feet from the pool and nearby wetland. Newtown’s wetlands commission will review the revised plan at an October 14th public hearing. The town previously denied the project’s rezoning request, which the developer is challenging in court.
