Connecticut banking regulators have ordered CDS Debt Relief to stop operating in the state, imposing penalties totaling two point one million dollars against the company and two managers. Regulators say the unlicensed company collected customer payments but failed to settle debts, spending money on operating costs and personal expenses. The order cites dealings with at least twelve Connecticut customers and requires restitution. The company did not respond to requests for comment.
