Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has ordered U.S. and state flags lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset today in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day. The annual observance during National Police Week honors local, state and federal law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Flags will be lowered at the State Capitol and all state-operated buildings, while municipalities, businesses and residents are also encouraged to participate.
